MESSAGE .................NHW RU Attempted distraction burglary in Kimberley Avenue, Rugby INC 502 of 29 August
We would like to make you aware of an attempted distraction burglary which occurred in Kimberley Avenue, Rugby.
At 7.25pm a male knocked at the door of the property and asked to read the gas meter. The resident refused him entry as he did not have identification. The caller and two other males the drove off in a small red vehicle with HCK or TCK as part of the registration number. All the males were about 25 years of age and the caller was wearing a blue and white checked jacket.
Please beware of callers to your home. Do not answer the door to anyone you do not know or are not expecting. If you have a chain on the door make sure it is attached before opening the door and always ask the caller for identification and check it carefully.
