NHW RU Distraction burglaries in Main Street, Brandon and Norton Leys, Rugby believed to be linked INC 606 of 14 September

MESSAGE .................NHW RU Distraction burglaries in Main Street, Brandon and Norton Leys, Rugby believed to be linked INC 606 of 14 September
Rugby police believe that the distraction burglaries which occurred at the homes of elderly people in Main Street, Brandon and Norton Leys, Rugby on the evening of Friday 14 September may be linked.
At around 8pm an offender called at a home in Main Street, Brandon and told the resident to shut off the waster. He was asked for identification but said that he did not have any as his boss had it at another home. While the resident was in the kitchen turning off the water a second offender entered the house and stole a large quantity of cash.
At around 8.45pm an offender claiming to be from the Waterworks called at a home in Norton Leys, Rugby. He told the resident that he was waiting ofr dye to come through the water. The resident became unhappy and asked him to leave. She then realised that someone else was in the house and that some items of jewellery had been stolen.
In both cases the offender is described as a small amn, about 5ft 4in tall with an Irish accent.
Please beware of unexpected callers claiming to be from the utility companies and do not let anyone you do not know or are not expecting into your home. If you have information that you believe may be connect to these incidents please contact Rugby police quoting incident number 606 of 14 September. Thankyou.
