MESSAGE .................NHW RU Attempted Distraction Burglary in Stephen Street, Rugby INC 213 of 13 November
We would like to make you aware that distraction burglars are again at work in the Rugby area.
At around midday yesterday, 13 November, an offender called at the home of a pensioner in Stephen Street, Rugby stating that he was from the council and wanted to check the water pressure as the next door boiler was leaking. He was then joined by a second male.
The offenders are described as 2 white males, about 18 years of age.
Fortunately the pensioner was aware of recent scams and distraction burglaries and turned the offenders away.
Please remind your elderly neighbours to beware of bogus callers and advise them not to let anyone they do not know or are not expecting into their homes. Thankyou.
