MESSAGE .................BW RU Beware of bogus telephone calls about advertising in a Warwickshire Police brochure INC 322 of 5 February
Warwickshire police would like to make you aware that a member of Business Watch in Rugby has reported that they received a telephone call yesterday from a caller who said that they were from the local police and that they were in the process of making people aware of a brochure for Warwickshire Police. They then said that they had allocated the Business Watch member an A4 page in the brochure for advertising at the cost of £195 plus VAT. At this point the Business Watch member queried this and the police connection and the offender hung up.
Warwickshire police are not currently selling advertising space in any brochures so please beware of passing on any financial details to potentially bogus callers. If you receive any similar calls please dial 1471 for the telephone number of the caller and contact police to report the call immediately. Thankyou.
