MESSAGE .................NHW RU Red 07 plate Seat Leon involved in attempted distraction burglaries in Shilton INC 245 of 4 March
We would like to make you aware that at just before 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon, 4 March a male went to the home of an elderly lady in Hallway Drive, Shilton and told her that there was a bubble in the water pipes and that he wanted to entere her home to show her how to turn the water off. The woman refused to let him in and he made off.
At around the same time a male neighbour had a male walk into him home via an unlocked door. The male claimed that a neighbour was having a washing machine fitted but when he was challenged about his identity he left.
The offenders are rescribed a follows:
The first male was white, aged around 20-30 years and about 5ft 3 in tall. He had short blond hair, a slim build and was wearing a canvas jacket with a fur hood.
The second male was in his mid 20's, about 5 ft 10in tall. He was thick set with short fair hair.
Both males left the area in a new red 4 door Seat Leon on an 07 plate.
If you noticed anything suspicious or saw these characters or their vehicle in the Shilton area on Tuesday afternoon please contact Rugby police quoting incident number 245 of 4 March.
Please also remind elderly neighbours to keep their doors closed and locked when they are not in use, to check who is at their door before answering and not to allow anyone they do not know or are not exptecting into their homes without thoroughly checking their identity first.
Please also remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons or activity in your area and please report anything of concern to police. Thankyou.
