MESSAGE .................HW RU Thefts from guest bedrooms at hotels in Ansty and Dunchurch INC 135 of 4 September
We would like to make you aware of the following incidents which occurred at hotels in the Rugby area yeaterday 4 September.
Sometime prior to 9.40am offenders stole a wallet and credit cards from a guest bedroom at the Ansty hall Hotel and sometime between 1.15 and 1.30pm offenders stole a laptop computer, several wallets and several sets of car keys fron jackets left in a residents room at The Dunchurch Park Hotel.
A silver BMW 350 was then stolen from the carpark using one of the sets of keys.
There have been several other similar incidents at hotels across the county over recent months so please remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons or activity in your hotel or carparking areas and please report anything of concern to police.
Northamptonshire Police have also made us aware that several hotels in their county have received telephone calls from a male offender pretending to be a police officer.
The male has asked hotel personnel for details of guests and has been given them. he has then contacted the guests posing as a hotel or B&B manager and asked for credit card details because the ones given at the time of the booking have been lost.
Several guests have given the information only to discover that the call was not genuine.
You may remember that several similar incidents occurred in your area earlier this year. Please could you remind staff never to give out personal information relating to guests and ask them to contact Rugby police if they are contacted as detailed above. Thankyou.
