MESSAGE .................PW RU Burglary in Monks Kirby, robbery at Blue Pig, Wolvey and attempt robbery at Bell Inn, Monks Kirby INC 149 of 24 December

We would like to make you all ware of the following incident which have occurred in your area over recent days.

At 9.50am on Christmas Eve, 24 December two offenders wearing balaclavas attempted to force their way into the rear of the Bell Inn, Bell Lane, Monks Kirby. The offenders were armedwith sticks or similar implements.

A member of staff alerted other staff members and the offenders made off in a Hyundai Coupe which was stolen from Ansty during the previous night.

The offenders are described as 2 males in dark clothing.

At 10.15am also on Christmas Eve, 2 white male offenders wearing dark tracksuits and balaclavas used a meat cleaver and a machete to threaten staff at The Blue Pig, Hall Road, Wolvey,

The staff were then forced into the cellar and the offenders stole a quantity of cash before making off in an Hynddai Coupe.

Sometime between 7.30am and 7.30pm yesterday, 28 December offenders smashed a rear ground floor window at ahome in Brockhurst Lane, Monks Kirby and entered the house. Once inside the offenders made an untidy search of the upstairs before making off with a quantity of cash and numerous items of jewellery.

If you saw or heard anything suspicious in any of these areas around the times given that you believe may be connected to these incidents or you saw the Hyundai Coupe and its occupants please contact Rugby Police quoting incident number 149 of 24 December.
