MESSAGE .................NHW RU Burglary at home of elderly person in Northcote Road, Rugby INC 533 of 6 January

Nuneaton Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information relating to a burglary which occurred at the home of an elderly person in Northcote Road, Rugby at just before 9pm last night, 6 January.

At just before 9pm two offenders forced open the front door of the house with a flat bladed instrument and entered the property.

The elderly resident heard a noise and confronted 2 offenders in the hall. One offender said something about taps being turned on and followed the resident to the dining room where one offender searched cupboards. Both offenders then left via the front door having stolen a quantity of cash and two bank books. The offenders are then believed to have made off towards a nearby park.

If you saw or heard anything suspicious in the area of Northcote Road at around this time that you believe may be connected to this burglary please contact Rugby Police quoting incident number 533 of 6 January.

Please also remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons, vehicles or activity around your own or neighbouring homes and please report anything of concern to police. Thankyou.
