MESSAGE .................NHW RU Suspicious males called at home of elderly person in John Thwaites Close, Rugby INC 125 of 28 January

We would like to make you aware that at about 12noon on Tuesday 27 January two black males called at the home of an elderly female in John Thwaites Close, Rugby.

The males told the lady that they were from the Council and wished to check the electricity.

The lady did not allow them into her home and they went away. The council have since confirmed that they had no workers in the area.

Please could we ask you to remind all elderly or vulnerable neighbours not to allow anyone they do not know or are not expecting into their homes without thoroughly checking their identity. Please also remind them that they do not have to allow anyone into their homes even if the caller states that it is an emergency.

If in any doubt they should ask the visitor to make an appointment to call at another time when a neighbour, friend or relative can be present. Thankyou.
