Rugby Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information relating to an attempted distraction burglary which occurred at the home of an elderly lady in Woodlands Road, Binley Woods at just after 5pm yesterday evening, 29 July.

At around this time a single male offenders knocked at the front window of the house and then entered the premises via an insecure rear door.

The offender then told the elderly female resident that he needed to check under the sink and then went in and out of the back door as the resident turned the taps on and off.

There was then a discussion over payment before the offender left the premises empty handed.

The male is described as in his early 20s with a thin wiry build and was wearing what appeared to be an anorak.
