Please can we make you aware of the following incidents which have occurred in your area over recent days.

At 2.30pm on Saturday 14 November, a male purporting to be fron the council called at the home of an elderly person in Coronation Road, Rugby. He said that he had come to check windows for draughts. He was invited into the house and then made his way upstairs.

When her returned he asked the resident for £60. The resident challenged this but the male stated that it was a new council ruling and the resident felt forced to pay the money. The resident made a note of the registration number of the vehicle, described as a van, as the offender left. Please be on the lookout for registration number similar to KG56 GV*.

At just before 2am yesterday morning, 15 November, a witness reported 2 males acting suspiciously around garages in Bennett Close, Wolston. The offenders then left the area in a Ford Mondeo vehicle and were stopped a short time later by a patrol car.

The offenders vehicle was found to contain boltcroppers, gardening equipment and tools and two males were arrested.
