WARWICKSHIRE POLICE WATCH SCHEMES Warwickshire Police - 01926 684385 Fax - 01926 684384 Email watch@warwickshire.police.ukMESSAGE .................NHW RU Distraction burglary in Dunchurch & burglary at Leam Valley Golf Centre, Rugby INC 12 of 24 February

At 11.55am on 19 February a male offender called at the home of an elderly lady in Vicarage Lane, Dunchurch and appeared to be selling items from a black holdall.

The resident stated that she was not interested and the male asked if she could fill his water bottle. The resident then turned her back to fill the bottle and the male followed her into her home and stole a purse from a handbag.

The offender is described as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s. He was around 5ft 10 to 6ft tall, with a slim build, dark hair and spoke with a local accent.

Between 9pm and midnight last night, 23 February offenders kicked in the rear door of the Leam Valley Golf Centre, Southam Road, Rugby and entered the building.

Once inside, the offenders stole a safe containing cash and left a bag of valuable golf clubs behind.

Please remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons or activity in your area and please remember to report anything of concern to police. Please also remind elderly neighbours not to answer their door to anyone they do not know or are not expecting and to be very wary of doorstep callers. Thankyou.
