Please can we make you aware of the following incidents which have occurred in your area over recent days.

At 9.50pm last night, 3 March, the elderly female resident of a home in Percival Road, Rugby placed her bin outside her front door and was confronted by an offender who claimed to be a plain clothes Police Officer. He stated that he had been watching her house and that there was someone round the back. He then urged the resident to go upstairs to check her property but she declined.

The offender then entered the hallway of the house and stole a bag containing a debit card, driving licence and cash. The offender pushed the lady who was left shaken but unharmed.

The offender is described as a white male around 5ft 5in tall and in his early twenties. He was clean shaven with short dark brown hair, had a local accent and was wearing a navy blue waterproof jacket.

Between 10.30 and 10.45pm on 2 March an offender was disturbed as he was trying to gain access to the rear of a home in Catesby Road, Rugby. The offender ran off and got into a white van and drove away but was later arrested.

Between 6.15 and 11.15pm on the same night an offender used a jemmy or crowbar type instrument to attempt to enter the front door of a home in Hopps Lodge Drive, Rugby.

The offender failed to get into the house and nothing was stolen. This incident is believed to be linked to the one in Catesby Road.

Please remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons, vehicles or activity around your own or neighbouring homes and please report anything of concern to police. Thankyou.
