MESSAGE .................NHW RU Robbery at Coral bookmakers in Hillmorton Road, Rugby INC 554 of 15 May
Police in Rugby are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at Coral Bookmakers in Hillmorton Road, Rugby. The incident occurred yesterday evening, Thursday 15 May, at around 9.30pm.
Three white males, all believed to be aged in their late teens, entered the bookmakers. One was carrying an axe and one of the others had a knife. They threatened staff, demanding that they hand over money form the tills.
The three then left on foot, running down Kingsley Avenue which is opposite the bookmakers.
No one was injured during the robbery, although staff were badly shaken from their experience.
The three males, who escaped with approximately £133 cash, are described as follows: First male wearing a navy blue hooded top with the word Nike on the front. He had a lighter coloured top underneath, which was quite short and didn''t cover the top of his trousers. He was wearing a black glove on one hand and a white glove on the other hand, and had dark coloured trousers.
The second male was wearing a white hooded top with a cap and a balaclava underneath which obscured his face. He had yellow rubber gloves on, was carrying a black rucsack and had black trousers.
The third male was dressed in a sludgy green jacket with a hood (not a sweat shirt hoodie), light blue jeans and had black gloves.
This combination of descriptions is quite distinctive and police would like to hear form anyone who saw anyone matching their appearance yesterday evening in the Hillmorton Road area of Rugby.
Thankyou
